Mrs Dhakiya first Omani specialist prosthetist and orthotist in Oman, have 23 years of working experience. Graduated from Strathclyde University Glasgow UK with BSc Honor in Prosthetic and Orthotic. Member of the International Society of Prosthetics and Orthotics (ISPO) and in 2012 member in establishment of the United Arab Society for Prosthetics and Orthotics in Jordan (UASPO). Speaker at the Gulf Diabetes Foot Conference since 2012 until present The Prosthetic and Orthotic Department at Khoula Hospital main aim is to supply required Orthosis and Prosthesis for the Orthopaedic patients and the disabled community in Oman.

Our services involve the assessment, Prescription, design, manufacture and fitting of artificial limbs to all the ministry of health users of artificial limbs. In our orthotics service, our orthotists prescribe 'orthotic devices' - orthopaedic devices used to support, alignment, prevent, or correct deformities or to improve the function of movable parts of the body. We currently provide services to over 7000 users of orthotics.

In this paper will distinguish the prosthetic and orthotic preventive and management role in foot care and explain the amputation and prosthesis challenged.
